A leading global factual broadcaster are currently looking for an experienced Acquisitions Consultant to join them for an initial 12 month contract on a part time basis. This role will require the flexibility to work 3-4 days a week in their London office (please note this role will be mostly office based so it's essential that candidates are able to work in London)
The Acquisitions Consultant will support the Global Acquisitions team in sourcing finished television content across all platforms, including linear and DTC distribution. Reporting to the Director of Global Acquisitions in London, this role oversees the acquisition lifecycle from greenlight to transmission, focusing on factual programming that aligns with brand priorities and ensures high-quality global content delivery.
Key Responsibilities-
Content Acquisition
- Assist in acquiring finished factual content to meet global platform needs.
- Negotiate pricing, rights, windows, and contracts in line with the acquisition strategy.
- Build strong relationships with distributors and production partners to secure premium content.

Collaboration & Deal Management
- Partner with Programming, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to structure deals and ensure timely content delivery.
- Manage acquisition deals from greenlight to contract execution, ensuring alignment with internal goals.

Strategy & Reporting
- Develop acquisition strategies aligned with programming priorities, emphasizing key regions.
- Maintain accurate acquisition records and deliver regular reports on progress and financials to senior management.

Industry Engagement
- Monitor industry trends, emerging funding models, and distribution shifts, sharing insights with the team.
Experience
- 5+ years in content acquisitions, distribution, or programming, with expertise in factual/unscripted content.
- Proven ability to negotiate and close complex, multi-region deals.
- Strong network within the factual television and documentary sectors.
- Familiarity with rights management, licensing, and deal structuring, ideally in media/entertainment companies.
Skills
- Expertise in negotiation, balancing commercial, legal, and editorial considerations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously.
- Proficiency in acquisition databases and office tools like Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
