We require an SC cleared Business Analyst to cover an existing workload within Counter Terrorism Policing, based in Empress State Building (Hybrid working).

This is an interim position for an initial 6 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.

Job Purpose:

  • To assist national CT Policing Community to elicit and develop technology User Requirements, scoping studies and Business Cases (Government Green book).
  • To develop afore mentioned documentation sets to progress projects through due governance to delivery.
  • You will be able to develop a range of documentation formats in order to provide information in a manner suitable to the target audience. In addition, to be a contact for the CT Policing Community in relation to technology providing advice and guidance.
  • To represent BDSD and the Technology Pillar at corporate and national technology forums. 
  • Work Arrangements: Flexibility to work on-site one day a week (Tuesday’s), with potential additional days as required.

Skills and experience needed to be successful in this role:

  • MUST HAVE ACTIVE SC LEVEL CLEARANCE TO APPLY!
  • Defining Requirements: Ability to define both functional and non-functional requirements for an automated tool, including creating acceptance criteria and user stories.
  • Engagement and Workshops: Experience in engaging with users through workshops to gather and verify requirements.
  • Technical Acumen: Some technical knowledge to collaborate with technical architects and ensure the product meets the defined criteria.
  • Governance and Security: Familiarity with governance checks, stakeholder engagement, and consulting with information security.
  • Full Lifecycle Understanding: Capability to manage the project from start to finish, scrutinizing requirements and ensuring the tool is fit for purpose.
  • Vetting and Clearance: SC clearance is essential, MET/Warwickshire candidates will only be considered.
  • A track record of extensive Business Analysis experience in relation to development lifecycles and project lifecycles, evidenced by the ability to manage key stakeholders and the production of a wide array of documents and specifications to a very high standard.
  • A practical experience in producing 'as-Is' and 'to-be' process models using Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) and the ability to undertake Gap Analysis on which project requirements will be based.
  • Experience in delivering IT related business cases and knowledge / experience of national and local governance processes, i.e. CTP HQ, MOPAC, Cabinet Office etc.
  • Proven experience in the planning, management and the facilitation of workshops.
