Our client operates the regulated markets of cities across Europe, and are searching for a dynamic and talented Business Analyst Intern! This is a 12 month internship paying £27K per annum. This role is hybrid with 3 days at the office in Canary Wharf. This internship will start in the beginning of Jan 2025.About the Company:Our client is an Electronic Communication Network for foreign exchange trading. Clients include retail brokers, institutions, banks, hedge funds, and proprietary trading firms.The Business Analyst Intern will work directly for the Company’s Head of Operations and Business Management and alongside senior management to support a variety of strategic initiatives to grow revenues enabling the Company to transform and achieve ambitious growth targets.Key Accountabilities:

  • Compile and analyse operational and financial data, produce business strategy analyses, simulations and reports around client activity and profitability, sales performance and related bespoke analysis
  • Perform quantitative analysis with Excel, Qlik and other internal systems
  • Improve processes and increase automation in reporting
  • Contribute to communication materials for senior management
  • Build, enhance and support external relationships with strategic partners, vendors and other third party service providers
  • Manage interactions with business Finance and ensure accounting procedures are fully aligned with business Finance best practices
  • Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes and competitive behaviour, and produce the related market commentary
  • Work to identify enhancements to business operations to increase efficiency and effectiveness and maintain maximum productivity, superior client experience, and strong revenues
  • Take ownership of ad-hoc projects as directed and operate with maximum discretion on sensitive matters
  • Coordinate and support team members across all areas of the company, including Sales, Operations, Finance, Help, IT and Liquidity Management

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Accounting or similar
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint required; fluency in coding languages is preferred
  • Previous experience within a top consultancy firm, investment bank or related financial services would be a bonus
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and financial modelling capabilities; understanding of Business Analysis techniques and tools (Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI) would be a bonus
  • Good grasp of the financial industry and strong interest in technology, preferably with experience in FX markets
  • Superior organizational and project management skills with the ability to synthesize information and summarize issues
  • Fast learner with an entrepreneurial mindset (pragmatic, hands-on in execution, ability to make decisions within a fast changing environment)
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
