Market Analyst / Forecaster - London

We are seeking an experienced Marketing Analyst/Forecaster to join our delivery team. You will be working closely with senior market forecasters to refine and improve forecasting models for high-profile projects within the Telecoms, Media, and Entertainment industries.

This for our client who are a Global Business Intelligence, Publications and events group. This will be on an initial 7 month contract, mainly remote working with minimal travel to London and Inside IR35.

Role Overview

This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your research and analytical skills to address industry-specific challenges, identify key market trends, and develop forecasts that inform our clients' strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • * Lead the forecast production process for assigned deliverables, working across all phases from Business Understanding to Deployment.
  • * Maintain and update forecast models using Power Query, Alteryx, and Excel, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • * Preprocess and analyze time-series, cross-sectional, and panel data from various sources.
  • * Apply statistical techniques to identify market trends, create forecasts, and develop scenario-based analysis.
  • * Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and stakeholders to refine and validate forecasts.
  • * Produce clear and consistent documentation of forecasting methodologies, assumptions, and outputs.
  • * Use PowerBI, pivot charts, and tables for data visualization and analysis.

Key Skills and Competencies

Essential

  • * Proficiency in Power BI and Excel Data Models (Power Query and DAX experience required).
  • * Expertise in data modelling and visualization; solid understanding of relational databases.
  • * Demonstrated ability to build and refine market forecast models using statistical techniques.
  • * A degree (2.1 or higher) in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
  • * Strong problem-solving skills, self-sufficient, and proactive in identifying and solving issues.
  • * High numeracy with solid knowledge of statistical techniques.
  • * Excellent communication skills for engaging with senior stakeholders across the business.
  • * Strong research skills and an inquisitive mindset for analyzing industry trends.
  • * Ability to assess the impact of economic factors on market development.

Desirable

  • * Experience with Python for data analysis and forecasting.
  • * Knowledge of the Entertainment & Media industries.
  • * Experience working with large datasets and complex data models.
  • * Strong writing skills for producing research reports on trend analysis and forecasting methodologies.
  • * Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
