We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Specialist at VP level to join a leading bank in London for a high-impact project scheduled to begin in early 2025. This critical initiative will focus on enhancing operational risk frameworks, ensuring effective risk identification, mitigation, and governance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational risk frameworks, policies, and procedures to align with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identifying key operational risk exposures across business functions.
• Lead the design and execution of risk mitigation strategies, including controls testing and scenario analysis.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure operational risk is effectively integrated into business decision-making.
• Provide oversight and challenge for key risk events, root cause analyses, and remediation plans.
• Support the development of risk governance structures, ensuring clarity and accountability in risk management processes.
• Deliver regular reporting and insights to senior leadership, risk committees, and regulatory bodies.

Required Experience and Skills

• VP-level experience in Operational Risk within the banking sector.
• Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in leading risk identification and mitigation initiatives across complex business functions.
• Expertise in incident management, control assessments, and risk appetite development.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
