Reed Professional Services are seeking an experienced Principal Business Analyst to join our client in London, to work on their key technology functions. This role involves backfilling for a retiring Project Manager and requires a high calibre leader who can align technology investments with strategic goals.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Collaborate with Transformation Architects to shape project designs, understand interdependencies, and align investments with strategic goals.
  • Work alongside Senior Project Management to lead overall project delivery.
  • Challenge, shape, and champion functional and enterprise strategies in collaboration with Transformation Architects.
  • Continually assess threats and opportunities to strategic objectives to transform and optimise domain operating models and technology estate efficiency.
  • Plan and guide technology-related business changes in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Engage key business stakeholders to identify business and technology-enabled innovation opportunities to grow revenue, optimise costs, maintain legislative compliance, and mitigate risks.
  • Produce deliverables that demonstrate how to move the business domain toward realising its strategic goals and targeted business outcomes.
  • Provide fact-based assessments to help business and IT leaders make informed investment decisions.
  • Ensure the business and operating models fit together by showing the interdependencies between components.
  • Research emerging technology trends and disruptions and competitors’ practices relevant to assigned customers.
  • Consult with technical subject matter experts to develop business solutions, advising on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities.
  • Act as functional authority and business assurance lead for key projects.
  • Collaborate with agile teams to ensure prioritised continuous delivery of business value.
  • Contribute to the development and application of principles, standards, and minimal viable architectures informed by the business strategy and corporate governance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Significant experience as a Lead Business Analyst / Principal Business Analyst
  • Ability to produce industry-standard architecture artefacts and effectively present content.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing technology-enabled business strategies.
  • Influential verbal communicator and highly skilled in facilitating and leading multi-disciplined, high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of different types of business and operating models, facilitation of projects and products, and organisation change management.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects.
  • Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders.
  • Highly collaborative and supportive of business ideals and strategies.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a logistics company.
  • Previous experience in a consultancy.
