Quality Assurance Lead | 2-month contract | £400 - £500 a day (outside ir35) | Remote working

I am currently recruiting an experienced Quality Assurance Lead with strong operational and project management skills to work for the Department for Business and Trade. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU), where you will lead on implementing a comprehensive quality assurance (QA) framework. This hands-on role requires someone who can hit the ground running, quickly capture key information, and engage effectively to lay the foundations of a QA framework. Responsibilities include drafting and implementing QA checklists, agreeing on processes with staff, and ensuring consistent application through regular workshops and training sessions.Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and document the key quality checking points within operational processes.
  • Draft and finalise QA checklists and guidelines to ensure consistent quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, feedback, and ensure buy-in.
  • Document and agreed the QA process with key stakeholders within ECJU.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to ensure staff understand the QA processes.
  • Develop and implement mechanisms within the QA process to regularly monitor and ensure consistent application, providing feedback to staff and management to enhance service quality and inform performance management.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in implementing quality assurance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data management and analysis.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to deliver within tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in creating and implementing detailed documentation, checklists, and guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in the UK export sector or organisations like ECJU.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001).
