An experienced Senior Quality Technologist is required for a FTC of 1 year for our client a Food Distributor in London (Hybrid). The role plays a critical part in ensuring the Quality, Safety and Compliance of Ingredients sourced from suppliers. The Senior Quality Technologist will be responsible for supplier qualification, performance monitoring, Auditing and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support the business growth and maintain customer satisfaction. Deputising for Supplier Quality Lead. The Key Duties:

Supplier Management & Qualification:

  • Support the supplier approval and qualification process, ensuring compliance with regulatory industry, and internal standards for all product categories
  • Evaluate new and existing suppliers through audits, assessments and reviews of certifications and process controls
  • Coordinate supplier boarding activities, ensuring all required documentation (e.g. supplier questionnaires, audit reports, certificates) is complete and up to date.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Monitor supplier compliance with food safety, regulatory, and quality system requirements.
  • Conduct supplier audits (remote and on-site) in accordance with BRC and other relevant standards
  • Support planning and conducting of audits (BRC, HACCP, Organic, FAMI QS and other)
  • Oversee supplier corrective actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues, ensuring timely resolution and root cause identification.

Supplier Performance Monitoring:

  • Track and report on supplier performance metrics, including defects rates and non-conformances
  • Maintain supplier documentation including but limited to supplier declaration, specifications and compliance documents including food safety, allergen, CoA's, test results and audit reports
  • Work cross functionally with Product Managers, Operations and Innovation to ensure supplier quality aligns with business goals.

Continuous Improvement and Process Optimisation:

  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier processes and enhance quality
  • Support new product development by working with suppliers to ensure raw materials and ingredients meet design specifications.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance within Food/Feed Ingredients. Must also have good knowledge of industry standards and regulations including BRC, HACCP, GMP. Experience of conducting supplier audits. This is a maternity contract role, hybrid with excellent benefits.
