Solutions Consultant - Energy Pricing/Forecasting/Trading

Your role:

As a pivotal member of our team, your role is to bridge the gap between our client’s innovative solutions and their clients’ needs. With a strong foundation in project delivery and a comprehensive understanding of the energy sector, you will lead the co-creation of bespoke calculation models. Your tasks include configuring and refining our platform, ensuring that every solution perfectly aligns with the customer’s requirements. You will:

  • Collaborate closely with customer business experts, employing your project delivery skills and energy sector knowledge to craft the ideal solutions.
  • Utilize your deep understanding of pricing, forecasting, and portfolio management to develop tailored calculation models in our client’s model.
  • Identify enhancements to our solution, establish a project backlog, and direct our data engineers with clear, actionable development tasks.
  • Uphold development quality through comprehensive test scenario creation and execution.
  • Work with project managers, solution architects, and the data engineering team to elevate the delivery of IT projects.

Your responsibilities

In your capacity as a UK Energy Solutions Consultant, your expertise in project delivery and the energy sector will drive the development of cutting-edge calculation models and solutions. From the initial sales phase through to project implementation, you will:

  • Engage with clients, solution architects, and engineers to define requirements for calculation models, pinpointing specific data needs and algorithms.
  • Use your knowledge of the UK Energy market to advocate for our client's solutions, guiding prospects and customers through our client's offerings in pricing, forecasting, and billing.
  • Facilitate workshops for customers, translating complex project details into comprehensible information for all stakeholders.
  • Analyse client processes, pricing, and forecasting methodologies to effectively brief our engineering team and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Champion co-creation and teamwork, collaborating closely with colleagues across departments.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project delivery within the energy retail industry, focusing on pricing, forecasting, or trading.
  • Demonstrable expertise in the Energy market, with a keen eye on the latest developments.
  • An analytical and numerical problem solver with a knack for understanding and addressing complex challenges.
  • Proficient in English, with exceptional communication skills both in writing and speaking.
  • A people person with a profound understanding of the energy sector, capable of navigating multiple geographical energy markets.
