A major global law firm with a sector-driven and technology-focused approach, needs an established business development professional, on a 12 to 14 month fixed term contract basis to cover a period of maternity leave, to play a key role partnering with colleagues across the firm to successfully implement BD activities.

This role represents a unique opportunity to support an integrated group comprising the firm’s real estate practice and sector teams. Keeping abreast of relevant developments, legislation and regulations to build and broaden understanding of the department’s work, enabling knowledgeable conversations and BD recommendation, the Business Development Manager will enjoy a broad role encompassing business planning and budgeting, targeting potential clients and further developing existing relationships and constructing engaging pitch documents and presentations. From a marketing perspective, the role holder will contribute to the development and execution of marketing campaigns, coordinate and host internal and external events, seminars, webinars and socials and prepare compelling legal directory and award submissions.
With a proactive and can-do approach, the ideal candidate will have significant proven marketing and business development experience gained within a professional services environment, ideally in a law firm. The Business Development Manager will possess excellent numerical and communication skills and will be skilled at presenting complex information and concepts in a clear and concise manner. A mindset focused on process improvement with the ability to identify areas of working which can be adapted or automated to improve effectiveness will also be key to success in this challenging role. Previous experience gained supporting a Real Estate practice group is highly desirable but not essential.
