Business Development Representative needed to join our team on a permanent basis, here at VML Enterprise Solutions.

The opportunity:

As a Senior New Business Manager for Demand Generation you will be a key part of the team, leading the connection and relationships with future clients. We are seeking an outgoing, passionate and enthusiastic individual who’s self-motivated and driven to succeed, to join our close knit, lively and supportive Growth team.

Your primary responsibility will be to represent our company at various industry events in the UK and other European markets, dinners, drinks and through broader networking activities. Actively engaging with client organisation contacts, cutting through the noise to get attention, building rapport, effectively landing the capabilities and experience of our organisation, and turning this into an initial engagement - a further conversation, a creds meeting and ideally a brief that results in revenue.

In addition, you will be responsible for driving the sales activation event strategy and organisation, as well as working as part of a wider BDR function to drive attendance for the events and follow-up on connections and leads from across the division.

What you’ll be doing:

Relationship building:Attend industry events, partner events, conferences, dinners and other networking opportunities to meet client organisation contacts and to cultivate relationships. Be the face of VML Enterprise Solutions and exude a genuine interest and passion in getting to know people on a personal and professional level.

Lead generation: Identify potential prospects and generate leads through your networking efforts. Initiate conversations and effectively communicate the unique benefits and services VML Enterprise Solutions can offer to address their needs and challenges. Own UK target accounts to aid targeting and to increase likelihood of success based on our vertical expertise and previous engagements.

Follow-up & relationship nurturing: Proactively follow-up with contacts post events and keep the conversation going - either by yourself or leveraging the wider BDR function - to help maintain regular communication to build trust, keep VML Enterprise Solutions top of mind and to be helpful and relevant to their needs.

Selecting, organising and leading sales activation events & attendance at industry events:Identify and select, based on your experience, the best events to organise and attend to maximise interests from net new prospects. Organise the necessary internal attendance and recruit net new prospects to attend said events or activities (e.g. VIP dinner) around key industry events.

Collaborative selling: Work closely with the broader Growth team (Sales, Partnerships and Marketing) to shape the event calendar and warm up networking opportunities, and to collaborative on potential leads and opportunities, transitioning these seamlessly into the pitch lead and supporting team. Have an ambition to progress your career as part of the Growth team, by extending your abilities down the pipe.

Marketing insight & knowledge:Stay up-to-date on what’s going on in B2C / B2B customer and client organisation trends, commerce services and technology and martech. Leveraging this to power your conversations and relationships.

What we want from you:

  • Proven experience in sales or business development, with a strong track record and passion for building successful relationships
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with people from various backgrounds
  • Natural networking abilities, with a genuine passion for meeting new people and nurturing relationships
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve sales targets and objectives
  • Understanding of marketing and commerce technology - including experience, content and commerce
  • Excellent presentation & pitching skills
  • High levels of enthusiasm and energy, with a positive attitude that inspires and motivates others
  • Flexibility to travel and attend events as required (predominately UK, with some occasional European travel)
  • Extremely organised, efficient and able to get up to speed quickly
