Novum Structures is an industry leader in innovative architectural solutions, specialising in high-performance systems for roofs, façades, and building envelopes.

The Role: We are looking for a proactive, results-driven Sales & Business Development Representative to drive growth within the London region. This role involves identifying and generating leads, conducting needs assessments with prospective clients, and building strong relationships with industry professionals, including architects, engineers, façade consultants, and main contractors. The ideal candidate will possess strong business development skills, technical knowledge, and a passion for engaging with clients to position Novum’s systems as integral components in leading construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through client meetings, presentations, networking events, cold calling, and social media to establish a steady pipeline.
  • Client Consultation: Conduct in-depth consultations with prospective clients to understand their requirements and recommend systemized solutions, utilising Novum’s in-house Preconstruction design team for support.
  • Relationship Building: Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key partners in the Architectural Roof, Façade, and Envelope sectors to promote Novum’s capabilities.
  • Presentations & Meetings: Schedule and deliver face-to-face presentations to showcase Novum’s systems and capabilities, targeting decision-makers and stakeholders involved in the tender process.
  • Market Penetration Strategy: Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Team and Sales Director to refine communication strategies and develop an annual market penetration plan that prioritizes key accounts with scheduled contact frequencies.
  • Tracking & Reporting: Meet monthly targets for presentations and lead generation, providing weekly updates on lead activities to the Sales Director.
  • CRM & Database Management: Update and maintain Novum’s CRM database with new contacts and project opportunities.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend relevant networking events, stay current with industry trends, and continuously expand your product and competitor knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Education: BEng in Structural Engineering or Façade Engineering is desirable
  • Experience: Proven experience in a business development role within the construction industry, ideally in glazing, membranes, cladding, or architectural steel.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with construction processes and the ability to address technical queries.
  • Sales Skills: Previous experience in a sales-focused role is desirable, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Personal Attributes: Organized, focused, driven, and proactive with a positive, logical approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Independence: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, effectively managing your time and territory.
  • Tech Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce CRM.
