The Role and ResponsibilitiesYoull be identifying, engaging with and booking meetings with new and existing clients and help the team future-proof clients business by developing and executing global innovation and investment strategies. Youll work alongside a diverse group of 130+ business development consultants with a deep specialism in Asia.
What youll be doing
As Sales Development Representative, youll be interacting with top Japanese tech innovators daily through emails, calls, F2F meetings, events and trade show visits. Youll be identifying your targets and building relationships, developing proposals and closing deals to attain your sales target. You will also engage with the marketing, helping to devise and implement marketing campaigns.
As your career progresses you will engage with the European branches of Japanese firms and their HQ counterparts. Youll aim to understand their growth plans for overseas markets and discuss how our in-market research, innovation and business development support services can accelerate their expansion and green transition plans.
Youll often be talking to European-based heads of innovation, investment directors, overseas branch managers and other senior executives. You dont need a deep technical background, but you should be able quickly to grasp cut through the commercial and technical requirements of potential clients across a range of high-growth sectors including software, energy, renewables, heavy industries, automotive, medtech & life sciences and electronics.
Your Background
Excellent spoken and written Japanese and English
An understanding of the Japanese business and culture
An understanding of the European business, venture capital and tech environment to collaborate with additional partners and further expand your network
A genuine interest in technology, sustainability and international business
The ability to work independently while being very much a part of a team
A university degree in business, management, or in a technical/engineering field is desirable
