An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive BD Executive or Senior BD Executive to join a boutique London law firm.

Reporting to the Director of Business Development and working as part of the firm’s well-regarded BD team in support of the firm’s business strategy and wider BD aims, you will take primary responsibility for new business, both in relation to formal and informal tenders and the pipeline process more generally. The end-to-end management of bids and tenders will be a key focus of this challenging role. You will assess the viability of opportunities, draft and prepare proposal documents, prepare client presentations, organise post-tender debriefs and assist with transition planning. The successful applicant will support the Director of Business Development with larger, strategically important tender opportunities, work with fee earners to prepare fee quotes, retainer arrangements and other fixed fee proposals and maintain a library of pricing information. You will also be responsible for maintaining a register of opportunities, report win/lose statistics and develop and manage a range of tools to assist efficient production of proposal documents, including infographics. In addition, the BD Executive or Senior BD Executive will need to monitor and report on the firm’s competitors and contribute to BD projects, such as supporting the firm’s new CRM system and posting content on the firm’s website and social media channels.

The BD Executive or Senior BD Executive will be a conscientious and enthusiastic individual with strong communication, presentation, organisation and research skills developed in a similar role in a legal firm or other partnership environment, to include experience drafting proposal documents and running tender processes. A versatile team player with a confident demeanour, the ideal candidate will enjoy winning new business and operating under pressure and to tight deadlines. Previous experience using InDesign and knowledge of the pensions industry will also be highly advantageous.
