An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated business development professional to join one of the world’s leading law firms to provide business development and marketing support to the partners and associates of the firm's Corporate Transactions & Advisory practice in a role with a very strong events focus.

The firm’s marketing and business development function is seen as pivotal in making this strategy a reality. The team works strategically with the partnership with the aim of making the firm the global law firm of choice for the world’s leading businesses. The Corporate Transactions & Advisory team is global in nature, regularly featuring at the top of the cross-border M&A league tables and consistently winning some of the most high-profile and high-value deals in the market. With Band 1 rankings in Chambers Global, Chambers Europe and Chambers UK, the team advise many household names including sophisticated UK-listed companies, leading global corporates, financial sponsors and sovereign wealth funds on their most critical, strategic and complicated M&A transactions and joint ventures. This broad role would probably suit a very strong executive looking for a step up in responsibilities. You will provide the full spectrum of marketing and business development support, assisting the Senior Business Development Manager and embedding yourself within the group, and you will be expected to build strong relationships to strengthen, deepen and broaden the group's client base. The Senior Business Development Executive will be responsible for providing operational BD support to ensure the implementation of the group business plan in collaboration with the partners. You will maintain oversight of the group's priority clients and prospects and will be expected to actively support client development activities, including researching clients and targets and driving tangible BD opportunities. The role holder will provide end-to-end support of matter-specific pitches including facilitating "go/no go" decisions and will feed into global panel RFPs as needed. You will also have strong involvement in broader marketing and communications and will project manage directory, awards league table submissions. Events will represent a key area of the successful applicant’s focus as they will be responsible for managing a large range of flagship external events, including seminars, roundtables and dinners. As the go-to person for some of these events, you will be involved in all aspects of event management from discussing client lists with Partners, to organising speakers and itineraries, through to arranging invitations and organisation.
Confident, resilient and focused, the chosen candidate will have solid experience working in a marketing or business development function, ideally within a law firm, to include demonstrable success in events management and of working on competitive proposals and pitches. The firm are looking for someone who has a track record of being proactive and delivering high quality work and the ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines within a fast-paced team environment. The Senior Business Development Executive will also be an exceptional team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills who is able to form strong working relationships for the benefit of both the group and the firm as a whole. Previous experience of working in a transactional practice or sector role or equivalent experience in a client development or account management role will be highly advantageous.
