About the Company:Join our Insurance Client, known for leveraging data-driven insights to improve underwriting, pricing, and customer experiences. We are seeking a dynamic Insurance Data Lead to drive our data strategy and initiatives, enabling us to stay ahead in an ever-evolving market.

Role Overview:The Insurance Data Lead will spearhead data management, governance, and analytics initiatives, ensuring optimal use of data assets to support business goals. This role involves collaborating across underwriting, pricing, claims, and operations to enhance data-driven decision-making and improve efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Strategy & Governance:

    • Develop and implement the data strategy in alignment with business objectives.
    • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR and FCA standards.
  • Data Management:

    • Oversee data architecture, ensuring efficient integration of multiple data sources (internal and external).
    • Manage data pipelines, ensuring data availability, accuracy, and timeliness for analytics and reporting.
    • Drive data consolidation projects to unify data across underwriting, claims, and other business domains.
  • Analytics & Insights:

    • Lead the development of advanced analytics models to support pricing, underwriting, and claims management.
    • Collaborate with data science teams to build predictive models for optimizing product pricing and customer behavior insights.
    • Translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Act as a data champion, educating and mentoring teams on the value of data and analytics.
    • Collaborate with IT, underwriting, pricing, and claims teams to identify and prioritize data projects.
    • Manage and mentor a team of data analysts and engineers.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify emerging technologies and trends in data management and analytics to drive innovation.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve data processes, tools, and infrastructure.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a data leadership role within the insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products, pricing strategies, and underwriting processes.
  • Expertise in data governance, management, and analytics.
  • Proficiency in data tools and platforms such as SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience leading data consolidation and migration projects.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the insurance sector (e.g., GDPR, FCA).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with policy administration systems (e.g., Acturis, Open GI, SSP).
  • Experience with machine learning models for insurance pricing and risk analysis.
