Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with one of the UK's leading literacy charities to recruit aThis is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing team, drive strategic business support, and play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of programmes that promote reading for children across the UK.

As Senior Business Support Manager, you will lead and develop business support functions across the organisation, ensuring effective information flow between internal teams and external partners. You will oversee key operational processes, drive improvements in data and information management, and support new strategic initiatives. You will also line-manage a Business Support Manager and be responsible for high-level coordination of partnerships, CRM development, and reporting.

Senior Business Support Manager

Location: Hybrid - London office (8 days per month)

Salary: £47,000 per annum

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead business support functions, ensuring efficient processes and communication across teams.
  • Oversee CRM development and data management to support the organisation's strategic goals.
  • Manage and report on programme delivery, working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead on cross-organisational projects, driving process improvements and best practices.
  • Support the Director of Partnerships and other senior leaders in decision-making and planning.
  • Ensure streamlined communication pathways with key partners, particularly local authorities.
  • Line manage a Business Support Manager, supporting their professional development.

Person Specification:

  • We are looking for an experienced and proactive business support professional with a passion for improving systems and processes. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in business support, operations, or logistics management.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM systems, data management, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Experience of working with and managing relationships with internal and external partners
  • Experience of working in the charity or not-for-profit sector (desirable)
  • Knowledge of local government structures and ways of working (desirable)
  • Understanding of policy and data related to children and educational services (desirable)
