Your new role:

The Strategic Asset Manager will lead and support the strategic planning, development, and management of the Council's property portfolio. They will also ensure the optimal use and management of the Council's estate, maximising financial and social returns while aligning with corporate and political priorities.The Strategic Asset Manager will contribute to the development of the Council's Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and lead its implementation, including the delivery of the Corporate Landlord function.The post-holder will manage 2 staff responsible for service delivery and support within the service area, collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.

What you will need to succeed:

Extensive experience in a similar sized public sector organisation, focusing on an asset strategy and the implementation of asset plan objectives.Strong understanding of property and asset management principles, financial analysis, risk management, and market influences.Proven track record of successfully managing complex asset portfolios, showcasing effective decision-making and strong commercial expertise.Extensive leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and guide teams toward shared goals.
