My client is a historic market in central London. With a rich heritage dating back over hundreds of years, it has evolved from a wholesale vegetable market to a vibrant visitor attraction championing sustainable food and social connections.
At present they are looking to appoint an interim Director of Operations to provide cover during ongoing permanent recruitment.
Reporting into the CEO, key duties will include:
- Overall responsibility for leading and managing the operational activities and processes of the organisation, including cleaning, security and trader engagement.
- Responsible for the health and safety and environmental standards being met at all times.
- Responsible for the development of the operational strategy and contribute to the overall business strategy.
The successful candidate will have a background in operations management, ideally from a retail, food or visitor environment. You will have previous experience of overseeing outsourced, third-party contracts, as well as up to date knowledge of health and safety legislation.
