Regional Director of Housing

Are you an accomplished senior leader with extensive experience in housing and neighbourhood management? A national housing association is seeking an Interim Regional Director of Housing to lead their regional operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality housing services and contributing to the organisation's strategic growth. This is an exciting opportunity to drive impactful change and make a significant difference in communities across the region.

About the Role
As the Regional Director of Housing, you will be the figurehead for your region, providing strategic leadership to deliver the organisation's objectives and ensure excellent neighbourhood management, repairs services, and resident involvement. Reporting to the Director of Housing, you will oversee Heads of Operations and the Resident Involvement Manager, driving performance and efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the organisation's strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with regional and national goals.
  • Oversee housing, neighbourhood, and repairs services, ensuring high-quality delivery and compliance with regulations.
  • Act as the primary regional point of contact for key stakeholders, fostering productive relationships and ensuring accountability.
  • Set and manage the regional budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness, compliance, and value for money.
  • Champion resident engagement and satisfaction, embedding effective involvement structures within the region.
  • Collaborate with teams to optimise stock utilisation, including planning investments and managing asset disposals.
  • Lead and inspire teams, ensuring robust performance monitoring and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Deliver major change projects, standardising policies and processes to harmonise service standards.
  • Take the lead on corporate initiatives such as complaints handling, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and resident involvement.


About You

  • Proven track record as a senior or regional director within a housing association.
  • Extensive experience delivering high-quality housing, neighbourhood, and repairs services across a large region.
  • Expertise in governance, board management, and business planning with large budgets.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and driving change.
  • Deep understanding of the social housing environment, including regulatory frameworks and emerging government policies.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, building positive yet robust external relationships.
  • Proficiency in standardising policies, contract management, and service charge oversight.
  • Innovative problem-solving capabilities that enhance resident quality of life and operational efficiency.
  • Experience leading resident involvement initiatives with demonstrable results in improving satisfaction.
