My client one of the UK's leading Barristers Chambers is seeking an experienced Building Services Manager on a 6 month fixed term contract.

Set across 6 floors with an annex building joining in on 2 floors the building occupies approx 115 barristers and approx 40 staff.

The position will be providing full support to the Facilities Manager (who is only in 3 days a week) to ensure the implementation and execution of a Building Preventative Maintenance Plan and to ensure compliance with Fire Safety regulations and with the Facilities Manager, all requisite Health and Safety at Work regulations.

All hard services are contracted out and so they need someone with sound contract management experience and be able to use your hands on experience to best advise and proactively manage works that's carried out ensuring investigation prior and after (inspection) 

Responsibilities / project requirements within the 6 months -

  • Oversight and control of the Building Management System
  • Oversight and control of a Building Preventative Maintenance Plan, identifying and managing execution of specific projects were appropriate
  • Set budgets for OPEX and CAPEX in line with the Building Preventative Maintenance Plan
  • Establish  and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures for all works executed in 7/8 Essex Street and Annex
  •  Execution of the Fire Strategy, working with the Facilities Manager (priority)
  • Identifying areas for rolling repairs through execution of the Building Preventative Maintenance Plan

The client will have 2 main projects running within the first 6 months this being Fire remediation - Ceiling Smokes, Sensors, Sprinklers, etc and complete redecoration across all floors, the building is quite old and tired so needs extra TLC.

Applicants must have IOSH - Managing Safely and NEBOSH - Fire Safety, however for the right person maybe one of the 2 would be sufficient - but to learn more so on the Fire Safety.

Ideally you have experience of working in a corporate environment in a static (building) capacity or worked in local government building/s

5 days a week in the office and to provide full support to the Facilities Manager who is working on reduced hours.

The 6 months FTC may be extended further dependant on progress of works

Working 0800 - 1700 or 0900 - 1800 Monday to Friday

Salary 60 - 65k
