Job Title: School Caretaker/Site ManagerLocation: CamdenContract Type: Full-Time, PermanentStart Date: ASAPJob Description:We are seeking a dedicated and reliable School Caretaker to join the school we work with based in Camden. The ideal candidate will ensure the school premises are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This is a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of the school and providing a welcoming environment for the students and staff.Key Responsibilities:
- Performing daily cleaning and maintenance tasks across the school premises.
- Greet children and parents in the morning when they arrive at school.
- Ensure all areas of the school are safe and secure, including locking and unlocking buildings and checking security systems.
- Carry out minor repairs and liaise with external contractors for larger maintenance issues.
- Maintain outdoor spaces, including playgrounds and sports fields.
- Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for school events and activities.
- Monitor and manage heating, lighting, and other utility systems.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and unexpected situations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar caretaker or maintenance role.
- Previous experience (not necessarily as a caretaker) working in a school.
- Decent IT skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to carry out manual tasks.
- Flexibility to work outside regular school hours when necessary.
