About the Role

Westminster Council is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Housing Standards, Assets & Investment to act as the strategic lead for housing asset management. This is a pivotal role, driving the Council's strategy on housing assets, building safety, and service transformation within housing services.

As the strategic advisor, you will lead efforts to maximize the utility of the Council's housing assets through effective asset management, including procurement of works and exploring opportunities for rationalization, disposal, and reconfiguration. Your role will involve ensuring that service delivery standards meet the highest expectations, with a focus on innovation, excellence, continuous improvement, and environmental sustainability.

You will collaborate with the Housing Leadership Team and key stakeholders to drive improvement programs and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, particularly in the areas of building safety and compliance. This is a high-impact role requiring strong leadership, technical housing knowledge, and experience in delivering asset strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic advice on all aspects of housing asset management, procurement, and investment opportunities.

Lead the delivery of service transformation and improvement projects that align with the Council's objectives.

Ensure high standards of customer satisfaction and service delivery in asset management.

Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and value for money in housing services.

Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory housing standards, particularly in building safety.

Collaborate with the Housing Leadership Team to deliver the Council's housing service priorities and improvement programs.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Strong background in asset management.

In-depth knowledge of compliance and building safety regulations.

Experience in managing construction, including the successful delivery of major works.

Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering transformation initiatives.

Expertise in reshaping services to meet new regulatory requirements, particularly in building safety.

Professional qualifications or a background in property or housing management.
