Maintenance Manager Branded International Hotel

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.

• Ensure all maintenance requests and issues are addressed promptly and effectively to minimize guest disruption and maintain high service standards.

• Collaborate with the front desk and housekeeping teams to promptly address and resolve any maintenance issues reported by guests.

• Uphold the hotel’s brand standards in all maintenance activities, ensuring the property’s appearance and functionality exceed guest expectations.

• Maintain the mechanical and electrical services, architectural content and decorative finishes to the existing high standards.

• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the property’s equipment and facilities are well-maintained and in optimal working condition.

• Leading and managing maintenance teams as well as external contractors to enable safe, efficient and effective.

• Monitor and control maintenance expenses, including labour, materials, and contracted services.

• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts, ensuring the availability of critical items.

• Lead, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring they deliver high-quality work in a timely manner.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.

• Ensure that the team adheres to all hotel policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations.

• Ensure the property complies with all local, state, and federal regulations related to building safety, fire codes, and environmental standards.

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks.

• Coordinate with external inspectors and service providers to ensure all certifications and inspections are up to date.

• Keep detailed records of maintenance projects, expenses, and any issues that arise.

• Implement and monitor energy conservation initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.

• Analyse energy consumption patterns and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency without compromising guest comfort.

• Leads the emergency response team along with the General Manager during crisis. Working Conditions

• This position may require working in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions.

• The role may also require being on-call for emergencies outside of regular working hours.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a hotel.

• Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and external vendors.

• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.

• Proficient in using maintenance management software and other relevant tools.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Benefits
