Interim Theatres Service Improvement Manager (Band 8b)

Location: NHS Trust, London

Contract: 6 months (Interim)

Salary: Band 8b AFC equivalent

MLC Partners are supporting a reputable NHS Trust who are seeking an Operationally experienced manager to support the improvement of Theatres division. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and results-driven professional to lead service transformation within the theatres department, ensuring efficiency, patient safety, and optimal resource utilisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement service improvement initiatives across the theatres department.
  • Identify and drive efficiency improvements in theatre utilisation, patient flow, and workforce management.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to enhance performance and patient outcomes.
  • Develop and embed best practices to ensure compliance with NHS policies and quality standards.
  • Analyse data and KPIs to inform decision-making and deliver measurable improvements.
  • Support change management processes, ensuring stakeholder engagement and effective communication.
  • Provide leadership to the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in service improvement within acute hospital settings, preferably in theatres or surgical services.
  • Strong project management and change management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
  • Ability to analyse complex data and implement evidence-based improvements.
  • NHS experience at Band 8a/8b level or equivalent is essential.
