Randstad are recruiting for experienced Highways Schemes Site Manager / Agent to join a reputable integrated services contractor on a term maintenance contract in the Greater London Area.

Previous experience working on highways term maintenance contracts (eg TFL) is highly enouraged.

Rates are capped between (Apply online only)p/day CIS / LTD (OUTSIDE IR35)

Scope of work will include roadworks and resurfacing schemes, street lighting, Lining and Signing projects, Accessibility upgrades, Urban Realm Improvement, walking / cycling paths, public transport enhancements, Capital maintenance projects for structures

Majority of works will be around West / SW London commutable by public transport.


Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of highways schemes to our clients ensuring their objectives and targets are achieved leading to the successful overall delivery of the projects. You will also manage the teams on site (either internal or external providers) and Deputise for the works Manager in their absence.

  • Responsibilities:

    • Manage project execution, ensuring safety, quality, and budget adherence.
    • Oversee project delivery, meeting client objectives and targets.
    • Lead and manage on-site teams, fostering a positive work environment.
    • Manage plant, labor, and materials for efficient project execution.
    • Implement quality control procedures, ensuring work meets the highest standards.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in highways schemes /civil engineering, with a strong understanding of on-site health and safety practices.
    • Experience in leading and managing teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • ONC, HNC, or degree in civil engineering.
    * A certificate in Site Safety Management, CSCS card, and SMSTS certificate are highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • You will have worked within a similar role within the Highways / Surfacing industry and have knowledge of on-site Health and Safety policies and procedures associated with the role
  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team and provide leadership in the role
  • Possess good communications skills and will be able to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels
  • Experience in Highways / Surfacing Maintenance at a supervisory level, this will be in surfacing works and construction
  • A certificate in Site Safety Management, CSCS card and SMSTS certificate - highly beneficial
  • Have a flexible approach to location and working patterns in accordance with needs of the business - evenings, weekends etc as required
