Specialist Support Professional for Deaf Students

First Class Support are an award winning NMH provider for students in receipt of Disabled Students Allowance. We pride ourselves on employing first class support professionals to provide high quality and individual support for students throughout their time at university.

We are looking for a Specialist Support Professional with a background in deaf studies to provide bespoke support for the individual needs of students with a sensory impairment which reflects their method of communication, educational history, and experience.

Your role may include breaking assignment briefs and English concepts, developing research and composition strategies.

Also working on the structure and mode of presentations, organisation, and time management to facilitate strategies for independent learning.

Along with the above, this specific role for deaf students requires you to use appropriate communication strategies to enable access and understanding of carrier language.

As this role is funded by the DSA, we require our Support Workers to be qualified with a Deaf Postgraduate Qualification OR any Postgraduate Qualification PLUS a deaf-related specialist qualification.
