About the RoleJoin the Greenwich Telecare service, a 24-hour emergency service supporting elderly and vulnerable individuals to maintain their independence with the help of assistive technology in their homes. As a Telecare Response Officer you will be responsible for elderly and vulnerable people, supporting them to maximise their independence with the use assistive technology in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and monitor calls to the Greenwich Telecare service, assessing the nature of the calls and taking appropriate action.
  • Provide advice, assistance, and support, including liaising with emergency services when needed.
  • Attend homes to assist residents, including helping them off the floor and providing first aid in emergencies.
  • Ensure homes are left secure following visits.
  • Support the delivery of emergency out-of-hours services and provide access to a range of council services.
  • Work flexible 12-hour shifts, including overnight, weekends, and bank holidays.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to engage with residents effectively.
  • Knowledge of the Telecare service and an understanding of council services for older or vulnerable people.
  • A resilient, calm, and professional demeanor to handle emergencies and distressed individuals.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative.
  • Enthusiasm and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • A full UK driving license and flexibility to cover additional shifts if needed.
  • The ability to pass an Enhanced DBS Check.
