Events Accountant – Events & Entertainment - £50-55k – 3-6 month contract (HYBRID)Our client is looking for a skilled Accountant with experience in cost management and financial reporting to join their team. This role involves ensuring that event cost budgets are fully reconciled with the accounting system (SAP). The Event Accountant will work closely with the event management team to manage and streamline operational and staffing budgets throughout the event.The Role
  • Ownership of event cost budgets, ensuring accurate reconciliation with the accounting system (SAP).
  • Support Event Directors and budget holders with continuous budget tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Work closely with the Event Management team to improve processes for staffing, operational, and expense budgets.
  • Maintain a reconciled and accurate cost section of the P&L.
  • Provide regular management reporting for decision-making, including variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including Event Directors, Finance, Marketing, and HR teams.
  • Monitor cash flow requirements and ensure timely payments, resolving any supplier queries.
  • Post journals to facilitate budget reconciliation and support wider budget management.
Requirements
  • Strong IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication skills with a process-oriented approach.
  • Proven ability to manage and reconcile large data sets.
  • Flexibility and strong commercial awareness.
  • Preferred: Event experience and familiarity with SAP software.
Qualifications
  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified (1+ years PQE).
  • Preferred: Degree educated or equivalent level.
