Business Data Analyst-Must have SCM/retail experience-Inside IR35

Our client are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Data Analyst to join their growing team. You will have Supply Chain Management and Warehouse experience ideally within a retail organisation(s). This individual will play a crucial role in leveraging data to support data transformation project and help drive data-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, advanced SQL skills, and a passion for uncovering insights from complex datasets. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Quality & Gap Analysis: Meticulously examine data for inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and gaps. Investigate and determine the root causes of data quality issues. Develop and implement solutions to improve data accuracy and completeness. SQL Development & Database Management: Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from relational databases. Demonstrate proficiency in joining and manipulating data from multiple sources. Maintain and optimize database performance. Project Management & Documentation: Manage multiple data analysis projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines. Maintain meticulous documentation of all project steps, methodologies, and key findings. Effectively communicate project status and updates to stakeholders. Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that can inform business strategy. Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for various stakeholders. Proactively seek opportunities to leverage data to improve business processes and outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline. A strong grasp of supply chain principles, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and the primary factors influencing inventory control. This understanding should encompass how warehouse allocation strategies can support business objectives and contribute to a smooth and efficient handling of operations. Proven experience (4+ years) in data analysis and reporting. Advanced SQL skills with experience querying and manipulating data from relational databases. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve data quality issues. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Dataflows. Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques. Experience with statistical analysis and modelling. Understand report performance drivers and joins to help ensure data accuracy
