I am currently recruiting for a leading Motor Insurer who are seeking an Underwriter to join their growing Motor Fleet team.

This position will entail being responsible for writing a range of medium to complex risks within the Motor Fleet risk appetite. It will also support team members with lower authority by helping to develop their technical knowledge. Someone with strong Motor Fleet Underwriting experience is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the underwriting strategy for the Motor Fleet class, ensuring all activities are within the agreed risk appetite and personal authority, including processing quotes, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and cancellations.
  • Contribute to the development of the underwriting appetite for our product(s).
  • Assist in managing portfolio performance by analysing results and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the operational leadership and technical training teams to identify training needs, and provide feedback, coaching, and training to enhance team competency and performance.
  • Serve as the first line of defence by understanding and adhering to the zero-tolerance fraud strategy.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Follow the complaint handling process and aim to resolve complaints informally whenever possible.
