  • Reed HR is seeking an interim Senior HR Advisor for a large Not for Profit Organisation in North West London for a 12-month maternity cover position. The role is hybrid, requiring travel to the office, and candidates must have a full license and access to a car. The ideal candidate should have experience in employee relations, organizational change, and working with Trade Unions, as well as a strong understanding of employment law. The position offers a salary of £40,000 to £50,000 per year and requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant HR experience. Key responsibilities include advising managers on HR policies, managing complex ER casework, and supporting organizational change initiatives.

Reed HR are working alongside a large Not for Profit Organisation based in North West London who are recruiting for an interim Senior HR Advisor for initially 12 months for Maternity cover. This is a hybrid role, so travel into the office will be required. A full license and access to a car is essential!

Key Responsibilities

Reporting into the ER & Change Manager, as part of the HR team you will be responsible for providing a pro-active and efficient ER service, supporting the on-site Managers your key accountabilities will include:-

  • Quickly and effectively establishing positive working relationships with HR colleagues in the wider team and demonstrating an understanding of the company's Strategic Vision and Values
  • Pro-actively seeking opportunities to build relationships on site and provide professional advice with internal and external stakeholders to deliver an effective HR service to the organisation
  • Able to advise managers on our HR policies and procedures with a pragmatic solution-based approach but always within the guidance of Employment Law regulations
  • Gaining credibility to become a go to critical friend for managers when dealing with change and culture shift
  • Provide advice on any proposed re-organisation structures and help deliver, mitigating risk
  • Provide advice on any redundancy process to avoid unfair practice
  • Provide advice and support to managers on all aspects of employee relations including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance issues,
  • Up to date experience of ET1 and ET3 Tribunal processes, including the preparation of organised and chronological bundles.
  • Being responsible for efficient outcomes to close ER cases within a specified time frame 
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience of being HR lead on organisational change
  • Knowledge and experience of planning consultations including TUPE
  • Able to quickly relocate to other resources within the Jewish Care portfolio when required
  • Liaising with managers in the organisation to undertake investigations
  • Liaising with managers in the organisation to chair disciplinary and appeal hearings
  • Organising onsite diary appointments, preparing invite letters/emails
  • Typing and collating on site or virtual notes to support Managers in a fast and efficient process
  • Adapting letter templates to reflect individual circumstances to support managers in concluding outcomes and sanctions
  • Data input to the HR system to track case work
  • Responsive and efficient to deliver excellent customer service
  • Keep the ER case files active and relevant with attention on closed resolutions
  • Manage a high volume of complex ER casework
  • Devise and implement tailored solutions to complex issues, in line with Jewish Care’s policies and procedures to enable line managers to make informed and timely decisions on staffing matters.
  • Knowledge of employment law
  • Ability to work effectively both as a member of the team and on own initiative
