About the role
Venus Wine & Drinks Merchant (Part of the Booker Group) are looking to recruit HGV Drivers for our Tottenham location.
In this role, we\'re seeking an enthusiastic driver to operate an 18T rigid vehicle, handling deliveries primarily within Greater London and occasionally on longer routes outside the city.
In case you didn\'t know, we supply pubs, clubs, bars and eateries which means making sure deliveries are on time is a top priority!
Our drivers are also paired with Drivers Mates, have an electric pump truck and a tail-lift to make sure you have all the tools you need to be successful.
Role Responsibility
- Driving an 18T Rigid Vehicle: Managing diverse delivery routes across Greater London and occasionally beyond.
- Completing Delivery Routes: Efficiently navigating routes with up to 15 stops, with potential for additional stops during peak periods.
- Ensuring Vehicle Safety: Conducting thorough 15-minute vehicle safety checks before driving and recording the results.
- Professional Customer Service: Interacting with customers in a friendly, professional manner while ensuring their deliveries are completed and checked to their satisfaction.
- Assisting with Deliveries: Collaborating with a driver’s mate to handle deliveries effectively, using the provided electric pump truck and tail-lift.
You will need
- UK Class 2 Licence: With no more than 6 points (clean licence preferred).
- Digital Tacho Card: Essential for tracking your driving hours accurately.
- In-Date CPC Card: With up-to-date training (7 hours per year). Non-UK cards should be exchanged for UK CPC/Tacho prior to or at first renewal.
- Understanding of Tacho Regulations: Knowledgeable in EU/Domestic tacho regulations regarding working hours, breaks, and driving time.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication to interact effectively with customers.
- Experience in Central London: Previous experience navigating delivery routes in Central London.
- Tail-Lift and Electric Pump Truck Operation: Skills in operating these tools to streamline your deliveries.
- Parking and Time Management: Understanding of parking rules and excellent time management abilities.
