Relocruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established Fine Art Shipper who provide shipping, documentation, handling and packing of all types of artworks worldwide. They also provide storage and customs bonded facilities.

They are now seeking an HGV Driver to join their busy team based in Northwest London.

Our client will consider candidates from a Fine Art or Removals background as long as they have experience handling fragile items.

This is a great opportunity to gain new skills within a niche industry, training will be provided to pack, wrap, and install artwork to a high standard.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Handling, packing, and moving of all items with extreme care and precision.
  • Loading/Unloading of trucks.
  • Condition and checking of items.
  • Execute the daily work schedule
  • Working on site and liaising with clients directly
  • Compliance with all legal requirements in the day-to-day operation of vehicles.
  • Daily and weekly vehicle check.
  • Compliance with EU Regulations for Driving hours and Working Time Directive.
  • Defect reports.
  • Correct operation, retention, and hand out of paper tachograph charts.
  • Correct operation of Digital Tacho Vehicle unit and card.
  • Correct maintenance, care, and cleanness of vehicle.
  • Correct use of fuel cards regarding mileage and registration records.
  • Security of vehicle and load.
  • Compliance regarding breakdowns, recovery, and road accident reports.
  • Compliance with company policies regarding smoking, mobile phones, and parking fines.
  • Correct reversing of vehicles.
  • Uphold a current valid drivers’ licence suitable for the vehicle to be driven and drivers’ CPC accreditation.
  • Report any traffic offenses and points on Driver’s licence to the operations manager.
  • Uphold good customer service values, liaison with day-to-day issues and handling customers queries.
  • Compliance with all health and safety requirements.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid and clean HGV Licence.
  • Clean UK drivers’ licence.
  • Able to communicate with suppliers and customers regarding delivery times.
  • Able to drive safely during busy traffic periods and in adverse weather conditions.
  • Experience within Removals or Fine Art with the ability to pack fragile items.
  • Keen to learn new skills
