Job Overview:

The Carpenter - Multi Trader is responsible for supporting the delivery of quality repairs and maintenance to ensure decent and suitable housing within the area of Islington. This role involves working as part of a team to carry out day to day carpentry work, along with other associated maintenance tasks across a variety of properties and social spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

Carpentry Work:

  • Perform carpentry repairs and installations, with a focus on fire doors.
  • Ensure all carpentry work meets safety standards and regulations, particularly concerning fire safety.

Maintenance Tasks:

  • Conduct general maintenance work as required across various of our managed properties and social spaces.
  • Tasks may include, but are not limited to, basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, tiling, and other repairs.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure timely and high-quality completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate with team members and supervisors to prioritize work and address urgent repairs.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.

Client Interaction:

  • Communicate professionally with residents and clients, addressing their concerns and providing updates on the progress of repairs and maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in carpentry and general maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with fire door regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact with clients professionally.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
