Drivers Mate

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Driver's Mate to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the driver in the delivery of goods, ensuring that all items are loaded, transported, and unloaded safely and efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and a commitment to providing excellent service.

Working hours 06:00-14:00 Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods from the vehicle.
• Ensure all deliveries are made accurately and on time.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Perform checks on the vehicle before departure to ensure it is roadworthy.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle and warehouse area.
• Support in navigating routes and managing delivery paperwork.
• Handle heavy lifting as required during loading and unloading processes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
• A valid driving licence is advantageous, particularly for van drivers.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely.
• Experience in a warehouse or delivery environment is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
• A proactive attitude with a focus on teamwork and customer satisfaction.
