An esteemed Intellectual Property firm is seeking a CIPA Qualified Patent Administrator to join its dedicated team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in patent administration, looking to contribute to a leading firm in the industry.

About the RoleAs the successful Patent Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the administrative aspects of patent filing and prosecution, ensuring compliance with UK and international patent procedures. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines effectively. This position requires a solid understanding of CIPA qualifications and regulations, as well as familiarity with the patent filing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling patent filings, including preparing and submitting UK, EP and international applications
  • Managing official communications from patent offices and foreign associates
  • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring timely submission of documents and responses
  • Maintaining patent records in internal systems, ensuring data accuracy
  • Preparing cost estimates and invoices for clients
  • Coordinating with attorneys and other team members to ensure smooth case management
  • Providing additional administrative support to the wider IP team when required

Candidate Requirements

  • CIPA qualification is essential
  • Strong understanding of UK, European and international patent procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Experience with patent management software (Inprotech or similar) is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
