Founded in 2010, the company has quickly established itself as one of Londons best handmade afternoon tea providers.
Brigits is extremely proud of the service standards and quality of baking provided in its cozy Tea Salon in the heart of Covent Garden, on-board the hugely popular traditional red double decker Routemaster Afternoon Tea Bus Tours, the now famous Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea Bus Tours and on board our Thames River Cruise.
We are looking for an experiencedPastry Chef Assistantto assist our Chef with the Afternoon Tea preparation.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations. They must adhere to health and safety standards to provide clients with the best possible serving.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head chef and Sous Chef with theAfternoon Tea preparation
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cookies, macaroons, pastries, etc. following traditional and modern recipes
- Work well within the team, communicating effectively with all necessary team members to ensure all preparation, closing down, and other associated tasks are completed effectively and efficiently
- Assist the Head chef with preparation of our different menus
- Monitors kitchen equipment and reports issues to superiors
- Checks products in Kitchen unit area and restocks items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift
- Sorting, storing and distributing ingredients
- Measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients if required
- Maintain high levels of personal hygiene and immaculate presentation
- Any other reasonable duties requested from you line manager
Requirements and Skills
- Proven experience as Assistant Pastry Chef minimum 2 years.
- Experience of working in a production kitchen
- Great attention to detail and creativity
- Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
- Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
- The ability to work in a team
