Chef de Partie – High-Volume Self-Service B&I
Salary: £31,000-£32,500 + Benefits
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (Monday-Friday)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join our team in a high-volume, self-service Business & Industry (B&I) catering environment. Despite being a small team, we are passionate about delivering exceptional food and service focused on designing and preparing a variety of visually stunning, fresh, dishes.
This role is ideal for an experienced chef who thrives in a fast-paced setting, possesses excellent organizational skills, and is dedicated to preparing high-quality dishes in large quantities without compromising on taste or presentation. You will have a passion for working with high-quality, seasonal ingredients and a flair for artistic presentation. You'll play a vital role in contributing to menu development, maintaining consistent quality, and ensuring that every dish is both a feast for the eyes and the palate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes 3 mains, sides and a selection of composite salads for self-service counters, catering to diverse tastes and dietary requirements.
- Ensure the smooth operation of your designated section in the kitchen, maintaining consistency and efficiency during busy service times.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in menu planning, stock control, and ordering.
- Train and mentor junior staff, ensuring they follow kitchen procedures and standards.
- Monitor portion control, waste management, and overall kitchen efficiency.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie, preferably in a high-volume catering or B&I environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, large-scale cooking, and self-service presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, with relevant certifications (e.g., Level 2 Food Hygiene).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support colleagues.
