The successful candidate will join an accomplished and close-knit team, working hands-on with talented colleagues to deliver a range of cuisines to the highest standards.

You'll work with quality ingredients and responsible for the day-to-day preparation and service of food to the Royal Household and staff.

Requirements

  • Assist in preparing meals across all areas of the kitchen for internal colleagues, Royal meals, and special functions to the highest standards.
  • Support Senior chefs in creating seasonal menus utilising products from the local estates.
  • Travel to other locations as required, ensuring consistent standards are upheld at each residence.
  • Taking responsibility for your Section you will be required to be across the detail of production requirements, communicate any stock or equipment irregularities to the Head Chef/Chef in Charge in a timely fashion.
  • Collaborate closely with all Kitchen sections to maintain efficient service, deputising as needed by the Chef in charge.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of kitchen areas and equipment, adhering to Hygiene Regulations.

About you  

Essential Criteria

  • Successfully completed a City and Guilds catering qualification (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all kitchen sections: Larder, Veg, Sauce, and Pastry, showcasing versatility and expertise.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team, fostering a supportive, positive, and flexible attitude towards colleagues.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, facilitating smooth operations and coordination in the kitchen environment.
  • Have a working knowledge of health and safety legislation, ensuring compliance and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Exhibit proven planning and organizational skills, orchestrating kitchen activities with precision and efficiency.
  • Display proactive initiative and the ability to use independent judgment, driving innovation and problem-solving.
  • Maintain awareness of legislative requirements, adhering to standards and ensuring operational compliance.
  • Show eagerness to learn and develop, embracing opportunities for growth and refinement.

Desirable Criteria

  • Bring experience from 5-star/premier catering operations, with a preference for Corporate/City contract catering backgrounds.
  • Experience in both volume catering and classical French cuisine would be advantages.
