Back to searchWe are recruiting for our client a talented Chef de Partie to work in a high profile contract catering business in Central London. The overall purpose is to assist the Head and Sous Chefs in all areas of the kitchen including health and safety and general managing to ensure exceptional customer service
Reporting to the Head Chef the key responsibilities are as follows
* Comply with all client and company health & safety procedures and standards at all times including adherence to food information regulations and food safety checks
* Run a section of the kitchen to the required standards
* Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the required standards and portion specifications within your section/speciality
* Directing the tasks and training any commis chefs or kitchen assistants working in your section
* Ensuring food is recovered and stored correctly to minimise waste
* Assist with the processing of food orders
* Assist with the receipt and storage of deliveries
* Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchens and surrounding working areas
* Ensure the correct use of all machinery and equipment
* Perform other general tasks to support effective food service delivery as reasonably requested
You will need to have strong cooking skills (able to prepare complex food dishes in a refined way), previous experience in a similar role, strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and train others. Attention to detail, sound knowledge of hygiene, health and safety and being a creative thinker keeping up to date with latest food trends
An NVQ in professional cookery or equivalent together with Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness this would be beneficial
Hours are mainly Monday to Friday 7am to 330pm with occasional evenings paid at Time and One Half overtime
