JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

To work as a collaborative member of the Hospitality Team keeping all areas of kitchens, pantries, bars, service areas and all catering equipment clean and tidy, participating in taking food/drinks orders, preparing, delivering and serving food and promoting high standards of food quality, presentation and nutrition.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To work as part of the Hospitality Team on rota basis to ensure that customers* benefit from freshly prepared, nutritious and well-presented food for breakfast, lunch and supper on a daily basis throughout the year.
  • To take direction from the Catering Supervisor/Kitchen Manager in terms of the catering areas in which shifts will be worked; to prepare, produce and where applicable to serve food items according to the daily menus and to ensure a clean and safe environment by complying with cleaning schedules and undertaking cleaning duties as required within the catering and hospitality areas.
  • To note in advance resident food choices (CWCt and Quadrangle), take food orders and payment at the till (Caf� 19), complying with policies in terms of cash-handling and recording transactions, and to deliver and serve as appropriate in CWCRt Dining Areas, Caf� 19 or to resident accommodation and dining areas within The Quadrangle.
  • To work in the social club and mobile bar areas as required
  • To comply with all statutory and organisational requirements, including but not limited to Health and Safety, Food Safety and Fire Safety, to undertake checks and complete records as directed and to make reports as necessary.
  • To undertake training as required.
  • To wear issued PPE or other appropriate catering/hospitality clothing as agreed and ensure that that work clothing is clean, tidy and approved.
  • To assist with moving food items to and from ambient, chilled or frozen stores or items or equipment as directed.
  • To assist with the preparation for and at service at extraordinary events which include but are not limited to Founders Day, Friends Day, Trustee Christmas Lunch, themed evenings and funeral events or buffets as directed.
  • To report any concerns with regard to the quality or conditions of any food item that you required to prepare for consumption, as part of your duties.
  • To respect the dignity, well-being and independence of residents and bring to the attention of the Management Board any concerns surrounding their safeguarding, security or care.
