The Role:
We are seeking a passionate Pastry Chef de Partie to join our award-winning team of nearly 20 pastry chefs and bakers. In this role, you will support senior chefs in delivering outstanding pastries, desserts, and bakery items while taking on independent responsibilities for designated tasks and sections. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a dedication to quality, and the flexibility to manage various pastry preparations across our hotels outlets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently oversee a designated pastry section, maintaining high standards in quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Collaborate closely with the senior pastry chefs to prepare signature pastries and desserts for all outlets, including Cakes & Bubbles.
- Create innovative pastry items for special events and banqueting functions, catering to unique themes and guest requests.
- Train and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and encouraging skill development within the team.
- Support the pastry team in conducting daily inventory checks and stock control to ensure efficient resource management.
- Maintain a pristine and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Communicate effectively with chefs across departments, including the banqueting and restaurant teams, to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Contribute ideas for new desserts and pastries, actively participating in menu development and seasonal offerings.
- Stay current on industry trends and techniques, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and innovation.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Pastry Chef de Partie role within a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.
- Exceptional skill in pastry arts, with proficiency in dessert preparation, bakery, and plating.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety standards, with a commitment to upholding these practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach, fostering a positive working environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required by hotel operations.
