Job SummaryAre you passionate about food and enjoy working in a vibrant school environment? We are looking for a friendly, reliable School Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team.

Our client is a high achieving stablishment dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We believe providing healthy and nutritious meals for our students is essential to their well-being and success. As the school cook you will be responsible for preparing balanced and tasty meals for our students in a kitchen that meets the highest hygiene and safety standards.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
  • Meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service .
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety procedures.

Skills

  • Strong culinary skills with experience in meal preparation and food preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a restaurant setting.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a school kitchen or culinary environment is essential
