Job SummaryAre you passionate about food and enjoy working in a vibrant school environment? We are looking for a friendly, reliable School Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team.
Our client is a high achieving stablishment dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We believe providing healthy and nutritious meals for our students is essential to their well-being and success. As the school cook you will be responsible for preparing balanced and tasty meals for our students in a kitchen that meets the highest hygiene and safety standards.

Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service .
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety procedures.
Skills
- Strong culinary skills with experience in meal preparation and food preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a restaurant setting.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
- A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a school kitchen or culinary environment is essential
Experience
- Kitchen management
- Experience in allergy management
- Of operating kitchen equipment safely
- Supervision of kitchen staff
- Working with young people
Qualifications
- At least Level 3 Food Safety or equivalent
- Atleast Level 2 qualification in food preparation and cooking
