Akara London is recruiting for a Senior Chef de Partie responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and served promptly. He will play a leadership role in the kitchen, providing guidance and training to junior chefs, assisting in menu development, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Section Management: Oversee and manage a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauté, pastry, fish, etc.), ensuring efficient and timely production of dishes.
- Preparation & Cooking: Prepare, cook, and present dishes as per the restaurants menu and recipes, ensuring the consistency and quality of all food items.
- Supervising Junior Staff: Supervise and train junior chefs and kitchen staff, providing guidance and maintaining high standards of food preparation.
- Quality Control: Ensure the food is prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.
- Inventory Management: Assist with stock control and inventory management for the section, ensuring sufficient supplies are available without overstocking.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety standards, ensuring the kitchen and food preparation areas are clean, sanitized, and safe.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other chefs in the kitchen, including the Sous Chef and Head Chef, to ensure smooth operations and effective communication during service.
- Menu Development: Assist in creating and updating menu items, contributing new ideas for seasonal offerings and specials.
- Cost Control: Ensure that the section operates within budgetary constraints, minimizing waste and adhering to portion control standards.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role, with a strong background in professional kitchens.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team, offering guidance and support to junior kitchen staff.
- Exceptional Culinary Skills: Strong understanding of kitchen techniques, food safety, and culinary arts, with the ability to create and maintain high-quality dishes.
- Attention to Detail: Precision and a keen eye for detail when it comes to food presentation, quality control, and hygiene.
