This is an exciting role to support the restaurant team at a prestigious new restaurant in Kensington & Chelsea bringing Italian fine dining to West London.

With a high-profile chef designing the food concept this will be an incredible opportunity to work in a grade 2 listed iconic building with an art gallery.

As Sous Chef you will be responsible for the efficient running of the kitchen on the day-to-day basis. It will be your main responsibility to lead service and maintain the high culinary standards set by the Executive Head Chef Emanuele Pollini and Head Chef Francesco Settembrini. Maintain high levels of cleanliness in the kitchen. Support the Head Chef in running the pass during service. You will be responsible to run the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.

Responsibilities

The Sous Chef will:

  • Complete service to a high standard
  • Maintain high quality of food offering
  • Support Head Chef with all EHO requirements
  • Ensure the smooth running of the daily operations in your kitchen, supporting your Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef and covering their days off
  • Ensure hygiene and health and safety regulations are met or exceeded in your kitchen
  • Making orders of equipment, supplies and ingredients
  • Keeping to agreed budgets

Skills & Experience

  • At least 5 years experience working as a manager in high-end kitchens
  • Creativity, flair and passion for your craft with a great eye for detail
  • A desire to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Aptitude for inventory/stock taking/payroll/ordering software systems
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • You will need to be an excellent communicator with great organisational skills
  • You will possess a friendly demeanour and take genuine pleasure in supporting your colleagues
