The overall purpose is to manage the kitchen staff in their day to day activities ensuring delivery of food service achieving all daily shift production and waste targets
Reporting to the Head Chef the key responsibilities are as follows
* Deputise for the Head chef or Catering Manager as required
* Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented to the required standards and portion specifications
* Motivate the team through effective communication
* Train & develop the team
* Assist in food production planning, processing of food orders and monitoring of stock
* Manage and maintain the cleanliness of all kitchens and surrounding working areas
* Perform other general tasks to support effective food service delivery as reasonably requested
* Manage the kitchen staff in their day to day activities ensuring the delivery of the food service achieves all daily shift production & waste targets
* Financial management of GP targets within area of responsibility
* Create and maintain rosters for the catering team
Health & Safety
* Comply with all client and company health & safety procedures and standards at all times including adherence to food information regulations and food safety checks
You will need to have excellent cooking skills, previous experience in a similar role, strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and train others.
If you have financial management within a kitchen environment and an NVQ in professional cookery or equivalent together with Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness this would be beneficial
Hours are mainly Monday to Friday 7am to 330pm with occasional evenings paid at Time and One Half overtime
