Our client, a well-established leader in the construction and M&E building services industry, is known for delivering high-quality, innovative projects across a range of sectors. They are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to assist in maintenance and project works.

In this role, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and plumbing work on commercial gas systems, boilers, and associated equipment. You will ensure all work is completed in line with Gas Safe regulations and health and safety standards. The role demands strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and excellent customer service skills.

Commercial Gas Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial gas systems, boilers, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults promptly to minimise client downtime.
  • Undertake reactive repairs to ensure systems remain operational and compliant.
  • Carry out a variety of plumbing tasks, including installations, repairs, and troubleshooting in commercial properties.
  • Ensure all plumbing work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with regulations.
  • Adhere to Gas Safe regulations and other industry standards.
  • Follow all relevant health and safety procedures and ensure the safety of clients, colleagues, and yourself on-site.
  • Work closely with other engineers and contractors on larger or more complex projects.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate service records, including job sheets and compliance certificates.
  • Provide clear reports to management and clients as required.
  • Always represent the company professionally, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns promptly.

Commercial Gas Engineer

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer.
  • Gas Safe registered with valid ACS qualifications, including COCN1, CCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, and TCP1 (or equivalents).
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial gas systems, boilers, and associated equipment.
  • Plumbing experience, including installations and fault-finding in commercial settings.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience with additional HVAC systems or electrical work.
  • Training or certification in health and safety (e.g., IOSH or NEBOSH).
  • First Aid certification.
