Carrington West are currently working with a busy London Borough with their search for an experienced Project Engineer to join them on a contract basis.
 
About the role:

To provide professional engineering services in the delivery and implementation of traffic schemes.
 
To play a crucial role in making sure the borough is a safe and pleasant place to be, furthering the Key objectives of  Transport Strategy which include encouraging healthy and sustainable modes of transport such as walking and cycling, reducing road casualties, improving air quality and increasing economic growth.
 
You will assist in managing the council's highways term contractor on the delivery of schemes ensuring that they are implemented to agreed timescale, budgets and specification.   
 
There will be a requirement to manage schemes in compliance of all health and safety guidelines and regulatory legislation.
 
The post holder will be expected to liaise with both internal and external parties at all levels in the delivery of schemes
 
Various schemes will necessitate the temporary closure of roads to vehicular traffic and / or suspension of parking spaces for which you will be required to organise with the relevant teams. 
 
You will liaise with Ward councillors, local groups, residents and any other interested parties who are directly affected by works to ensure they are aware of and notified of any potential impact. 
 
To keep up to date with legislation changes and best practice and apply this to the work of the design team and play a role in disseminating this information to colleagues both within and outside of the service.
