Chief Executive Officer

 

Our client are the UK market leader in compliance auditing services. The retirement of their founder and CEO has created the opportunity for a new CEO to join and lead the next stage of their journey, implementing their three year plan to double the size of their business through acquisitions and further organic growth.

As the CEO you will manage the overall operations of the company as well as identifying emerging opportunities including potential acquisitions and partnerships, managing stakeholder relationships, and upholding and evolving the company’s culture and values through the next phase of growth.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the UK retail sector - whether that's from working within the sector, or providing services to the sector for a meaningful part of their career. The successful candidate will have experience of leading and working with a young team.

Our client are willing to consider a reduced hour contract if required to secure the right candidate, and also offer a considerable degree of flexibility over working location - the company have a long and successful record of hybrid working.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the existing senior management team
  • Develop and execute the long-term strategic plan, including M&A and consideration of external investment / exit opportunities
  • Manage formal and informal interactions with the board and other key stakeholders and partners
  • Operational oversight of all of the companies activities
  • Media, PR and networking activities in support of the companies strategic goals

Experience

  • Previous experience of leading and developing teams either as a departmental head in a larger organisation or at 'C' level in a smaller business
  • Meaningful exposure to the UK retail market with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within that sector
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain trust at both board-level and with front-line operational teams
  • Experience of M&A or of working in a VC/PE backed organisation is an advantage
